Bring your products to Europe
YOUR SALES OPPORTUNITY
Natural ingredients are highly demanded in Europe - not only for the food industry, but also in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. Sri Lanka has lots to offer in this respect, especially in the important organic farming segment.
European companies attach great importance to international quality standards like HACCP, ISO-standards and GMP. Natural flavors and healthy ingredients are particularly popular in Europe, such as:
- Coconut products such as virgin coconut oil, coconut blossom sugar, coconut butter or drinking coconut
- Spices, such as cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, vanilla, nutmeg and many more.
- Essential oils and extracts of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger or cloves, etc.
If you grow these or other natural ingredients in Sri Lanka and want to export them to Europe, IPD can support you. Just contact us!

Country report Sri Lanka
Harnessing organic potential
Sri Lanka offers a wide variety of organic farming products for export. Besides its well-known Ceylon tea, high-quality spices and coconut products, which are highly sought-after in the European market, are also grown here. The range of organic natural ingredients is constantly expanding, whilst the farming sector on the southern Asian island is an important driver of sustainable development and a creator of jobs, particularly in rural areas.

»The IPD programme gives us important impulses to improve our enterprise, our range of goods and the collaboration with our trading partners. Among other things, we have developed a rigorous CSR strategy which acts as our guide and a benchmark upon which to judge us.«
Success Story
Successful export promotion
The IPD works closely with Business Support Organisations (BSOs), i.e. national trade associations and export promotion organisations, in its partner countries. There has been a close exchange with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) since 2019. In 2021, IPD opened a regional office in Colombo to intensify the cooperation.
With success: together, important projects in the field of export promotion could be implemented. A good time to end the work of the IPD office in Sri Lanka and continue the work in the context of individual projects.
