FAVOURED IN EUROPE: EXOTIC FRUIT AND VEGETABLES

Ghana´s agriculture offers a rich supply of fresh fruit and vegetables. Especially exotic fruit from Ghana, such as pineapples and mangos, as well as specifically African vegetables like okra and yam root, are popular among consumers in Europe. Additionally, European consumers are becoming increasingly aware of sustainability and demand organically grown products. Important criteria for that are organic status and Fairtrade certification.

IN DEMAND AMONG EUROPEANS: NATURAL INGREDIENTS

There is great demand in Europe for natural ingredients for food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The trend towards healthy food is leading to greater demand for superfoods and plant-based foods with health-promoting ingredients.

Medical and aromatic plant products, such as baobab or moringa as well as African cashews, dried fruit and coconut products from Ghana, have great export potential. Interesting products for the European cosmetic industry are for example cocoa butter or shea butter for use in natural skin and hair care products.

Through targeted matchmaking, the IPD will network these exporters with the right importers in the EU, arranging initial contacts before the fair, organizing and accompanying b2b meetings during the exhibition and supporting the follow-up after the fair is over.

Those specialized trainings provide companies from our partner countries with the skills, concepts and methods which will help to influence the decisions of the counterparts and enhance the prospects of the trade fair participation.

The IPD experts will equip you with different tools and techniques to present your products and services to European buyers in a way that they will be familiar with – so that intercultural differences will not have a negative influence on your business talks. 

During the trade fair, you can put your newly acquired skills into practice. For this, IPD experts accompany pre-arranged meetings with potential business partners and give direct feedback. With this preparation, business with European buyers run smoothly and without any trouble.

Anuga 2021: Variety of natural ingredients

Producers from ten developing countries and emerging nations show the wide range and high quality of processed fruit and vegetables

Bonn/Berlin, 14.09.2021 – A wide variety of processed fruits and vegetables – including freeze-dried bananas, guanabana puree, fruit powder, dried courgettes and peppers as well as jalapeño and chilli peppers – will be presented by the Import Promotion Desk (IPD) at this year's Anuga. Around 30 IPD companies from developing and emerging countries will be showing their range of natural ingredients at the world's leading trade fair for the food and beverage industry, taking place in Cologne from the 9th  to 13th of October.

Fruit Attraction 2021: IPD paves the way for diverse offers from South America

Producers from Ecuador, Colombia and Peru as well as four more IPD partner countries to present their premium-quality fruit and vegetable offers at “Fruit Attraction”

Bonn/Berlin, 31 August 2021 – Subtropical and tropical fruits are much in demand on the European market. And producers from South America offer an immense diversity of prod-ucts as well as premium quality. Import Promotion Desk (IPD) will be presenting fresh fruit offerings from Ecuador, Colombia and Peru at the international “Fruit Attraction” trade fair scheduled for 5 to 7 October in Madrid. In addition to this, the import promotion initiative will be showcasing further specialities from Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Ukraine. All in all, IPD supports a total of 30 companies from its partner countries, as well as further pro-ducers from Morocco and Ethiopia as part of its cooperation with GIZ, Germany’s associa-tion for international cooperation.

IPD presents Africa's fruit and vegetable diversity

Exporters from Egypt, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Morocco as well as from four other IPD partner countries show their high-quality product range at the virtual B2B event "Fresh Produce".
Bonn/Berlin, April 14, 2021 - Mangoes, grapes, citrus fruits, pomegranates as well as sweet potatoes, fresh herbs and sugar snap peas are part of Africa's fruit and vegetable diversity that exporters will present at the Import Promotion Desk’s (IPD) virtual B2B meetings. The offerings from Egypt, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Morocco will be a focus of the Virtual B2B Event "Fresh Produce," which runs May 10-28. In addition, the import promotion initiative will present other companies from the IPD partner countries Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Ukraine. Following the cancellation of the Fruit Logistica Special Edition, the IPD has decided at short notice to present the range of fresh fruit and vegetables from IPD partner countries in individual video meetings.

IPD supports organic producers at Biofach eSPECIAL

Bonn/Berlin, 28/01/2020 - Nearly 40 producers from developing and emerging countries will be presented to European trade visitors by the Import Promotion Desk (IPD) at this year's Biofach. This year, the world's leading trade fair for organic food will take place in virtual form from February 17 to 19. For the seventh time, IPD together with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), leading provider of in-ternational cooperation services, will present the wide range of organic products from developing and emerging countries under the motto "Organic Sourcing for Develop-ment". The Import Promotion Initiative’s free matchmaking services are open to all Euro-pean importers: IPD brings together traders from Europe with producers from developing and emerging countries.
